The Dance Program

The Dance Program

Cascade has worked in partnership with the Canterbury Academy since 2009, delivering specific dance training alongside their 6th form performing arts academies for students aged 16 - 19.

This program is fully funded for 2 years and works in conjuction with students choice of academic qualifications such as A-Levels and BTEC.

We provide off-site weekly training to the sixth form dancers at The Canterbury Academy which includes technique, choreography and regular performance opportunities. Dancers engage in 7 hours of dance training per week in Contemporary techniques, Ballet, Jazz, Urban and Acro.

Cascade holds links within the industry, striving to source a range of performance opportunities for the dancers, providing them with experiences to achieve, perform and compete regionally. Dancers are taught by practitioners who share their expertise and professional experience, alongside guest teachers and one-off workshops.

Dancers who join Cascade are expected to maintain a high level of focus, dedication and commitment to their training. The programme is a stepping stone to pursue a career in dance and previous students have been accepted into prestigious Dance Colleges and Universities, alongside successful careers in the arts.
