Canterbury Academy

Cascade has worked in parrnership with the Canterbury Academy since 2009, delivering dance training to their 6th form students as part of their Canterbury Institute for Performing Arts programme.

Cascade provides off-site weekly training to the sixth form dancers at The Canterbury Academy which includes technique, choreography and regular performance opportunities. Dancers engage in 7 hours of dance training per week in Contemporary techniques, Ballet, Jazz, Urban and Acro Dance.

Cascade holds links within the industry, striving to source a range of performance opportunities for the dancers, providing them with experiences to achieve, perform and compete regionally. Dancers are taught by a range of practitioners who share their expertise and professional experience, alongside guest teachers through one-off workshops.

Dancers who join Cascade are expected to maintain a high level of focus, dedication and commitment to their training. The programme is a stepping stone to pursue a career in dance and previous students have been accepted into prestigious Dance Colleges and Universities, alongside successful careers in the arts.
